  • Jan 13, 2021- Broke languages into two categories, primary and secondary. The division is to help with project focus along with feasibility of translation. A limited number of categories and/or questions will be translated, at least initially, for the secondary languages. Here is the current breakdown:
    • Primary: Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), Esperanto, French, German, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swahili, Swedish.
    • Secondary: Bengali, Bislama, Cantonese, Dakota, Dutch, Filipino/Tagalog, Fijian, Greek, Greek (Classical), Hawaiian, Hmong, Indonesian, Italian, Kannada, Lakota, Latin, Maori, Marathi, Navajo, Norwegian, Punjabi, Samoan, Somali, Tahitian, Tamil, Telugu, Tongan, Urdu, Vietnamese, Yoruba.
  • Jan 13, 2021- Added Bislama as a language.

  • Jan 10, 2021- Permission granted from Exrx.net to use their Kinesiology, Weight Training,  and Pharmacological glossaries for help in question creation.
  • Nov 30, 2020- Esperanto-lernado per ‘Major Trivia’ (Esperanto) and Esperanto Learning with Major Trivia! (English) published on the ESP Connections Blog of the Esperantic Studies Foundation (ESF)
  • Nov 24, 2020- There are now 18 categories with 50 questions or more completed in English.
  • Nov 23, 2020- Permission granted from Ted Ollier of Mindhue Studio for use of his Literal Periodic Tables (see here and here) to help in question creation.
  • Nov 17, 2020- Permission granted from Modern Farmer for use of The Modern Farmer Glossary of Farm Jargon to help in question creation.
  • Nov 13, 2020- There are now 15 categories with 50 or more questions completed in English. Five of these have more than 100 questions completed. There are over 700 questions completed in the Languages, Linguistics, and L2 Pedagogy category.
  • Nov 13, 2020- Permission granted from the Career Foundry to use text from The Ultimate UX Design Glossary: Make Sure You Know These UX Terms to aid in question creation.

  • Oct 23, 2020 Made sure to include all 20 most commonly spoken languages in the world as target languages; there are now 57+ confirmed translators in various languages.
  • Oct 16, 2020. Character Art completed for Music and Game Design, Development, and Studies Categories.

  • Oct 8, 2020. Permission granted to use text from Engineering Terms & Definitions (AMC Incorporated) to aid in question creation.
  • Oct 7, 2020 Initial call for volunteer translators sent out.
  • Sep 29, 2020. Permission granted for use of text from The Top 30 Art Movements In Western History: Characteristics And Styles, an article by The Collector, to aid in question creation.

  • May, 2020 An Exploration of Culpeper Games, a software showcase session was to be presented at the CALICO (Computer Assisted Language Instruction Consortium) 2020 Conference, but was canceled because of COVID-19. It has been postponed until June, 2021.
  • May 7, 2020. Major Trivia was introduced in Culpeper Games: Video Games Teaching Languages and Cultures a IALLT (International Association for Language Learning Technology) webinar by Jeremy A. Robinson.
